Good thing that whole thing with the factory shoes were cleared up. I caught a night bus from Osaka to Tokyo that night. I love night buses because they're cheaper than bullet trains and I have time to clean up my room and bring my suit to the cleaners (this again) before I disappear from Osaka for several days.

VIPLINER Experience

I usually take Willer Express because it's one of the nicer ones. A trip will cost around 6000 JPY (as opposed to 14000 JPY on the bullet train). This time, though, I booked a trip with VIPLINER(you pronounce it as it's written, NOT vee-ai-pee) because word-of-mouth is that their seats are more spacy than Willer Express. I should have figured out I booked the wrong bus as it only cost me 4500 JPY. It was your usual touring bus (the one with blue seats) with curtains between seats. It wasn't all that spacey but I guess it was worth it because they provided a pillow and a blanket. I figured out that the best way to get yourself comfortable on these overnight rides is to put a pillow behind your lower back as these seats don't fully recline. I just have to book the right bus with that company and make sure I get the ones with seats that fully recline.

April 29, 2015 Showa Day

There's a holiday called Golden Week in Japan where most public holidays occur. Showa Day (yesterday) is a holiday in honor of the late emperor. Golden Week isn't usually a whole week but some companies put in company holidays on days in between the holidays to make it longer. In the case of my company, some departments still have work today whereas mine doesn't. Tomorrow is also a company holiday so Golden Week for me is from the 29th until May 6. My boyfriend wasn't so lucky.

A Day of Gaming

We spent the day alternating between playing games on the Wii U. We played Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, and Mario World. We also watched an episode of The Office, which I always wanted to get into. The first episode was weird. It's not usually the kind of humor I get into but let's see.

Wrapping up the day

Dinner at this expensive sushi restaurant where we each had 7 pieces of sushi, a plate of sashimi, and two bottles of beer for 19500 JPY. I say this because it pains me. I appreciate the surprise but I've never been one to like spending so much on food as I'm pretty satisfied with food served in most restaurants. Now to figure out how to discourage him from bringing me to those kinds of places.
